Elias Pöyry to chair EURELECTRIC’s EV working group

Virta’s CBO Elias Pöyry has been selected as the new Chairman of EURELECTRIC’s electromobility working group. As Chairman Pöyry represents the European energy industry in the electric transportation matters.

EURELECTRIC is a key player in the development of the European energy sector. Through its 2 400 member companies it represents 500 billion euros of annual revenue. The organization emphasizes low-carbon solutions, and electric transportation is a key driver for new energy services and solutions.

Electric transportation offers possibilities to create new connections between the energy and transportation industries. Pöyry sees himself as an expert of this new network.

When it comes to energy production, we are shifting from imported oil to energy produced at the European home market. That is a great opportunity for the energy industry and it catalyses innovation across industries”, Pöyry states.

EURELECTRIC’s electromobility working group promotes the development of sustainable and intelligent transportation. In practice the group focuses on European level legislation. Previously the organization has for instance promoted the development of smart charging infrastructure. As Chairman Pöyry will serve as a crucial link between European legislation and the industry.
