VIRTA gears up for growth with new C-suite appointments
Following Juhani Hintikka’s appointment as the group CEO, EV charging and energy platform Virta has named Mauro Carobene (COO), Nina Ariluoma (CPCO), and Tom Jansson (CFO) to its leadership team - adding public-company expertise to drive leadership in fleet electrification, energy management, and market integration.
Since 2013, Virta’s software platform has helped launch 1,000+ charge point operators across Europe and Southeast Asia. Today, Virta platform manages 120,000+ charging points (3 GW) and helps to displace 100M+ liters of fossil fuels annually. This growth made Virta number one in the Financial Times and Statista’s 2014–2024 long-term growth comparison of European companies.
Now, Virta is gearing up for the next growth phase with a focus on EV energy technologies and fleets, with both organic and inorganic growth, as demonstrated by the recent acquisition of the fleet-tech company Northe.
Mauro Carobene will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer as of November 1st, 2025. Mauro is a seasoned executive and advisor with extensive leadership experience across multiple roles. Most recently, Mauro served as Chief Executive Officer of Kaleyra, an Italian communications platform company listed on the NYSE and acquired by Tata Communications in 2023. Before becoming CEO, he held the position of Chief Business Officer, contributing significantly to the company’s international expansion and strategic development. Mauro has prior experience with Northern European companies, including Nokia, Comptel, and DigitalRoute, where he played a key role in driving growth and operational excellence. Nina Ariluoma will assume the role of Chief People and Culture Officer as of November 24th, 2025. Nina is an experienced HR, leadership, and transformation executive with over 20 years in global organisations and advisory roles, and has most recently been a partner at the executive search and leadership advisory firm Amrop, advising boards and C-suites. Nina has held senior leadership roles at Fiskars Group and Nokia, driving large-scale organisational change, capability building, acquisitions and integrations, and culture transformation. She has also led Nordic Talent and Organisation Strategy consulting at Accenture. Nina is based in Helsinki.
Tom Jansson will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer as of January 1st, 2026. Tom has extensive experience of driving strategy and transformations, investor relations, M&A transactions and turnaround cases. He was previously CFO at the listed cyber security company WithSecure. Prior to WithSecure, he served as CFO of Posti Group (2018–2021), and as CFO of Comptel (2013–2017. Tom is based in Helsinki.
