Virta and Rifil partner for sustainable EV charging infrastructure
By connecting to Virta's charging platform, Rifil improves the stability and functionality of its heavy-duty vehicle fleets, focusing on the needs of the future.
Charging operator Rifil has chosen to connect its public charging stations to Virta's backend platform. The collaboration means that Rifil now uses Virta's solution to manage and monitor its charging stations, strengthening the infrastructure for heavy-duty electric vehicles in southern Sweden.
Rifil, which is part of Falkenklev Logistik, currently operates Sweden's largest public charging hub for heavy traffic and has previously invested heavily in electrified vehicle fleets with the ambition to lead the transition in the logistics industry.
Crucial role in the energy transition
The transition to electric trucks, vans and buses is central to achieving climate goals and reducing carbon emissions from the transport sector. At the same time, there is a growing need for reliable, safe and flexible charging infrastructure, suitable for both commercial vehicles and private motorists.
Rifil is a pioneer in charging for heavy vehicles. The fact that they choose Virta shows that we offer a platform that meets high demands on scalability, reliability and future-proof technology. This collaboration strengthens our common vision of a faster and more efficient electrification of the transport sector," says Marcus Enetjärn, Sales Manager Scandinavia at Virta.
By connecting to Virta's platform, Rifil gains access to a global back-end solution (CPMS) that streamlines the operation, monitoring and management of the charging stations. The platform offers advanced energy management, automatic self-healing functions for high operational reliability and easy scalability to meet future expansion needs.
"We have long believed that the future of transportation needs a charging infrastructure that is as smart as it is sustainable. With Virta as a partner, we are taking an important step forward - towards charging parks that not only provide fast and easy charging, but also contribute to a stronger electricity grid and a greener everyday life for more people," says Victor Falkenklev, CEO of Rifil.
Strategic importance for Skåne
Rifil's public charging stations are strategically important for the region's electrified transportation network. They offer both DC fast charging for heavy trucks and are available for private individuals who want to charge their electric cars - making the infrastructure flexible and efficient for different users. At the same time, Virta's own insights show that Skåne is one of the regions in Sweden that is lagging behind in the expansion of public charging infrastructure, with 18 chargeable cars per public charging point - significantly higher than the EU guideline of 10.
Rifil's charging stations are a clear example of how concrete initiatives drive electrification forward. In southern Sweden, there is great potential to further expand and strengthen the public charging infrastructure, which makes this investment particularly important. Together we strengthen the conditions for a faster electrification of the transport sector," says Martin Lundgren, Head of Scandinavia at Virta.

About Rifil
Rifil is a Swedish charging infrastructure company focusing on heavy electric vehicles. The company was founded by Victor Falkenklev, CEO of Falkenklev Logistik, and is part of the family business' focus on sustainable transportation.
Rifil currently operates Sweden's largest public charging station for heavy vehicles in Arlöv, just outside Malmö, with 38 charging points and the possibility of expansion. Additional charging stations are located in Perstorp, Helsingborg, Höör and Hörby, with capacity for both trucks and cars. All stations offer fast charging with up to 400 kW of power and are powered by 100% renewable electricity, mainly from the company's own solar park in Perstorp.
To further strengthen the stability of the electricity grid, Rifil has installed battery storage systems at its sites. These enable the storage of surplus electricity and contribute to frequency regulation, which is crucial for a reliable and sustainable energy supply.
Rifil's charging stations are open to the public and designed with a focus on user-friendliness and accessibility, making them attractive to both professional drivers and private individuals.
