Creek Power, a part of Bäckströms, launches its first public fast-charging site for heavy-duty electric vehicles in Norsborg – a milestone in Stockholm’s electrification journey.

Creek Power, is taking a decisive step toward a fossil-free construction and transport industry. Together with Virta, the company is opening its first high-power charging site in Norsborg in February 2026, marking the start of a large-scale hub for heavy-duty electric vehicles just south of Stockholm city centre.

The 10 MW site will include eight MCS (megawatt charging systems) connectors, Alpitronic HYC 1000, and five Alpitronic HYC 400 chargers, offering fast and reliable charging for cars, trucks, vans, and other professional vehicles.

A new high-power charging hub takes shape in Norsborg

The full 10 MW facility, with MCS units reflects Creek Powers focus on practical electrification for daily operations. In the construction sector, most work vehicles rely on medium-sized batteries optimised for shorter, high-intensity duty cycles rather than long-distance driving. High-power DC chargers like the Alpitronic HYC 400 enable quick turnaround between tasks or shifts. This keeps productivity high while also lowering emissions and reducing the need for fossil fuels.

"Our ambition is to help enable the full electrification of Stockholm’s construction vehicle fleet before 2030, starting with Norsborg as the first step and the foundation for several more sites around the region," says Fredrik Sarvell, CEO & Co-Funder at Creek Power.

The Norsborg site forms part of Creek Power’s broader initiative to drive electrification across the construction and logistics sectors. Creek Power develops smart energy hubs that serve as scalable, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure to support Sweden’s energy transition.

Helén Liljenroth, Head of Sustainability at Creek Power, explains: "Through Creek Power, we combine charging, energy storage, and grid services to use electricity more efficiently, reduce emissions, and secure predictable energy costs. Every kilowatt is used in a smarter, greener way."

"We’re proud to support Bäckströms and Creek Power in paving the way for heavy-duty electrification through advanced charging infrastructure and smart energy management," says Martin Lundgren, Country Director at Virta Scandinavia.

All types of electric vehicles are welcome at the site, though heavy-duty vehicles will be prioritised during peak hours. This 10 MW facility features five Alpitronic HYC 400 chargers, and eight Alpitronic HYC 1,000 MCS units and it’s scheduled to open in early 2026.
